Job Description

The Health and Safety Administrator will be responsible for the following; 

  • Respond to all 911 calls on campus. 
  • Respond and support all first aid requests. 
  • Reviews all new onboarding consumer health intakes and requests additional information or protocols as needed. 
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date health intake information for all consumers within assigned department(s).Manage and support all seizure protocols within assigned department(s). 
  • Manage and support all medicine disbursement and documentation for assigned department(s) 
  • Train and support proper medicine disbursement rules being managed in assigned department(s).  
  • Documents medical calls on a medical daily report and individual health visit log per consumer. 
  • Reports monthly medical call numbers to Director at the close of each month. 
  • Support feeding needs for children or adults on feeding tubes or specialized feeding restrictions and diets.. 
  • Support bathrooming needs and other transfer needs of consumers that require specialized assistance 
  • Properly identify and maintain all medication and medical equipment. 
  • Support and communicate with parents in proper documentation, medical concerns, and/or needs, and questions.  
  • Support all specific medical needs for the organization. 
  • Support student attendance and all the attendance rules and processes required of the Academy with regards to illness and injury. 
  • Properly communicate campus outbreaks such as flu, lice, etc 
  • Coordinates with the department staff, Leadership, and parents when outside nursing support is provided for Consumers. 
  • Assist in new hire medical protocol training. 
  • Assists in annual medical protocol training maintenance.  
  • Maintains stock of all medical supplies.  

The Health and Safety Administrator will attend regular monthly scheduled meetings with their supervisor. 

The Health and Safety Administrator must be self-motivated, possess high energy, and good moral character. 

The Health and Safety Administrator must manage documentation in a timely manner 

 The Health and Safety Administrator must think independently and clinically in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.  

Performs other related duties as assigned by Directors or Upper Management. 

Staff are expected to be able to utilize our water environments with clients as needed as part of their programming. This includes the use of our swimming pool and splash pad. Staff should be able to swim, and must be comfortable in these environments. They are directly responsible for the oversight of their clients in these environments, and must discuss with their supervisor if accommodations would be needed for them during these times. 

Performs all duties safely and prudently as directed by the clinical directors.

Lauren’s Institute For Education (L.I.F.E.) is a non-profit organization serving people with disabilities in Gilbert, AZ in an all-inclusive transdisciplinary treatment center.

Skills / Requirements

Degree or a certificate from an accredited school, community college, or technical school and have completed all national board certification exams as appropriate. Experience working with children with developmental disabilities. Understanding of Social Skill Deficits; Understanding of Developmental Milestones; Understanding of Maladaptive Behaviors, Knowledge of regulations and rules as it pertains to position and level of support. Fingerprint clearance card, CPR/First Aid, Article 9 certification, and three letters of recommendationStrong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required.
