As our Music Therapist, you will primarily provide 1:1 pediatric music therapy sessions and group music therapy sessions in our Day Treatment-Adult program.

As a Music Therapist, you can expect a typical week to include:

  • Providing one to one treatment sessions (approximately 60 minutes).
  • Providing group music for the Adult Day Program one day of the week     
  • Documenting consumer progress.
  • Billing for sessions.
  • Attending collaborative meetings. 
  • Providing support to treatment teams.

This position pays $20-$25/hour commensurate with experience.

Lauren’s Institute For Education (L.I.F.E.) is a non-profit organization serving people with disabilities in Gilbert, AZ in an all-inclusive transdisciplinary treatment center.

Skills / Requirements

Requirements:

  • CPR/First Aid/Article 9/Level One Fingerprint Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy
  • MT-BC credential required

Physical Expectations:

  • Music Therapist must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, often needs to model physical activities and move equipment throughout the day.

Background:

  • Preferred: work history with pediatrics
  • Preferred: experience with providing group music sessions.
  • Passionate about working with people with disabilities.
  • Growth mindset and drive to learn and improve skills and programs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work in multiple collaborative teams.
  • Strong ability to communicate about and promote programs (e.g., newsletter, social media).
  • Strong organizational skills.
